6th Grade Girls Finishes 2nd in USSSA in Shawnee Dec. 2010!!

The 6th Grade girls played in the USSSA tournament in Shawnee Mission on the first weekend of December. They went 3-2 overall in the Tournament and lost by 6 in the Championship Game. The Girls played hard and overall had a GREAT weekend of Basketball. Congrats!! Keep up the Hard Work..

3 Teams!! 3 First Place Finishes

Three "Pride" Basketball teams played in the "Kangaroo Shootout" at UMKC over the weekend. 4-5 Grade Girls, High School Girls, and High School Boys.

ALL three teams finished 1st in there Division. For 3 of our teams to finish first is a huge accomplishment for our organization. Our teams went 12-1 for the weekend. The only lost was the 4-5 grade girls team, against the Libery Avalanche, 1st game of the weekend. The 4-5 grade team ended up facing them again in the Championship game and won!!

Every player on all of the teams played hard. They got better individually and played well as a team!!

Congrats to all the Pride Teams.

The High School Boys finished 1st in the annual KC Magic Basketball classic in Independence. They went 4-0 during the tournament and played well. The Championship game was against the host team "KC Magic" and it was a GREAT win. Good job, Keep up the hard work!!

The High School Girls finished 1st the weekend of June 26-28 in the KC Magic annual Basketball classic in Independence, Mo. The girls were challenged and played some tough competition!!

The High School Girls finished 1st in the Metro Youth Sports Tournament Fathers Days weekend at UMKC. Playing at UMKC was a good opportunity for the girls to play big arena. They Championship game was against a team that had several players from the Kaw Valley league, it was a hard faught victory.

The High School Girls finished 1st in the Metro Youth Sports tournament May 21st weekend at William Jewell College. It was a awesome atmosphere to play in. The girls did well working on there individual game as well as playing as a team, Especially on the defensive side.

On Mothers Day weekend the High School Boys finished 3rd in the Varsity division AAU tournament in Kansas City. We had a big win against a top caliber team from Wichita. We actually were in a 3way tie for second but it came down to points.

Finishing 3rd in an AAU tournament is HUGE for our program. We played really well and got better as a team.

On the weekend of April 10th & 11th the High School Girls finished First in a Tournament in Overland Park. They had fun and scored alot of points. Congrats Girls!!

That same weekend our high school boys played in there first Tournament and finished 1-2. They competed well and are getting better as a team. The boys are tough competitors and will keep getting better as a team.

The 4-5th girls finished 1st in the Tournament in Butler, Mo. It was the girls 1st-1st Place finish. The girls all played hard and learned alot. On the drive to Butler on Saturday there was a border line snow storm and the games were still played. We had one of our families get into a accident on the way to the game and were not able to make it but they were all ok..

GOOD JOB 'Girls" we look forward to many more 1st place finishes.

The 4-5th Grade girls gave our team trophy to Pastor Rick George and New Life Community Church. We really appreciate the church allowing us to use the Gym.

During the weekend of Feb. 21-22 the "Pride" , 4-5th girls played in the Kansas State USSSA tournament in Shawnee. During the tournament USSSA held a skills competition and one of our Pride team members and a participant of the YBSC Fundaments Skills Camp Chandler Karr finished 2nd in the State in the Free-Throw competition. Chandler made 5 out of 10 Free-Throws. Congratulations to Chandler, Keep up the hard work. 02-23-2009
